Besucherbergwerk Grube Fortuna

"Glück auf!", says the visitor mine of the Fortuna mine north of Solms-Oberbiel near Wetzlar. The basics of mining are explained in the mining museum. Underground tours of one or more hours can be booked underground. A support basket takes visitors to the 150 m level. Afterwards, the mine train takes you to the mining area, where experienced mine managers demonstrate the original machines and explain work processes and special features of the mountains.

Zeiteninsel

The Zeiteninsel is currently being built as an archaeological open-air museum on the outskirts of Weimar-Argenstein in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district. In future, visitors will walk in the area of ​​approx. 3.5 hectares in the footsteps of hunters and collectors from the Stone Age to the Germanic tribes of the Roman period and thus be able to experience a journey through time through the early history of Hesse up close.

 

Keltenwelt

The Keltenwelt on the Glauberg (Wetteraukreis) includes an archaeological museum, the associated research center and a 30 hectare archaeological park. Interested visitors can learn everything about the Celtic period and culture in the Celtic world.

 

 

 

 

 


ExperiMINTa ScienceCenter

Here visitors can actively approach the topics of mathematics, computer science, natural science and technology. The EXPERIMINTA ScienceCenter presents scientific phenomena and mathematical relationships in a playful, uncomplicated and lively way.

Mathematikum

The Mathematikum Educational Museum in Gießen immerses children and adults alike in the world of mathematics. Complex topics from all areas of mathematics are made understandable for visitors in clear experiments.

Chemikum 

The Chemikum in Marburg - a hands-on laboratory for children and adults. Through active experimentation, visitors can find out about scientific issues and phenomena from the fields of chemistry, biology, pharmacy, physics and computer science.


Kinderakademie

The Kinderakademie in Fulda (KAF) is an interactive museum especially for children. The central exhibit is "The Walkable Heart", which impressively explains its function in the body.

 

VISEUM Wetzlar

The Viseum in Wetzlar offers optics and precision engineering that you can touch, for young and old. A wide variety of optical phenomena are presented and explained, from physical laws to microscopy and optics. These areas of physics appear in a completely new light.
